Phase 1 Complete – Now Delivering Emergency Supplies

Alhamdulillah, with your support, we have successfully completed Phase 1 of our emergency response. Families affected by the deadly floods in KP and AJK have received hot meals and clean drinking water during some of the most difficult days of their lives.

As of yesterday, we began Phase 2: delivering Non-Food Items (NFIs) to help families stabilize and rebuild. Each household receives:

Blankets

Kitchen sets

Basic hygiene kits

Mosquito repellents (to address the growing malaria crisis)

📦 We are distributing two complete packages per family — one food pack and one NFI kit.

This flood season has displaced thousands. Cases of malaria, dengue, and fever are climbing fast. With rivers still rising and the rainy season ongoing, your donation is their lifeline.

Emergency Flood Relief for Buner & Northern KPK

Assalamu Alaikum,

This August, devastating floods triggered by heavy monsoon rains and cloudbursts swept across Buner, Swat, Lower Dir, and surrounding districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Pakistan.

The impact has been catastrophic:

Over 200 confirmed deaths and many more missing

950+ households affected, including 300+ families fully displaced

250 homes destroyed, leaving families with nothing but the clothes on their backs

Crops and livestock washed away, wiping out livelihoods

Contaminated water sources increasing the risk of deadly disease outbreaks

Entire villages remain cut off by landslides and destroyed roads. Markets are disrupted, leaving families without food. Mothers are struggling to find clean water for their children. The elderly and sick are especially vulnerable.

The District Government has declared an emergency — but access is limited, and the needs are overwhelming.

Phase I Completed — Next Phase Begins

Alhamdulillah, with your support, Humanity Increased has completed the food distribution phase of our flood response in northern Pakistan and AJK.

1,500 displaced individuals received cooked meals and bottled water.

70 flood-affected families received dry ration packs to stabilize their household food security.

We are now focusing on non-food relief and recovery support:

Blankets, hygiene kits, and kitchen sets to protect health and restore dignity.

Temporary shelter materials for families who lost their homes.

Essential household support for widows, orphans, and the elderly.

This next phase is critical to protect families from disease, exposure, and further suffering.

What Humanity Increased is Doing

Based on our rapid needs assessment in VC Beshonai, Tehsil Gadezai, Buner District, Humanity Increased is launching a two-phase emergency response:

Phase I: Immediate Relief (First 2 Weeks)

Distribution of cooked meals to displaced families

Provision of safe drinking water through bottled water and purification support

Phase II: Early Recovery & Stabilization (Weeks 3–6)

Temporary shelters (tents, tarpaulins, blankets) for families who lost homes

Hygiene kits (soap, sanitary pads, detergent, disinfectants, buckets) to reduce disease

Kitchen sets and emergency household items (utensils, stoves, cooking equipment)

Who We Are Helping

This appeal will directly reach:

300+ displaced households (about 2,100 people)

650+ severely affected households (about 4,550 people)

Priority is given to:

Widows and women-headed households

Children and orphans

The elderly

Persons with disabilities

This campaign is Zakat-eligible and an opportunity for sadaqah jariyah (ongoing charity).
