Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh       ‏ اَلسَلامُ عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اَللهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ‎

The Muslim community in Växjö, Sweden, has been a vital part of this city since 1988. Over the years, our community has grown, and with it, the need for a proper masjid has become more urgent. Currently, we pray and gather in a temporary barrack that no longer accommodates the needs of our brothers and sisters. 

Today, we are seeking your support to build the first real masjid in Växjö – a sanctuary for worship, education, and community engagement. 

Why We Need Your Support This project will provide Växjö’s Muslim community with its first dedicated mosque, offering much-needed space for daily prayers, Jumu’ah, Quranic and Arabic lessons, and activities that strengthen our bond as a community. The new Växjö Mosque will not only be a place of worship but also a center for both religious and worldly education, fostering growth and empowerment for all. It will be a cornerstone of our community, serving generations to come. The Project and Fundraising Goal The total cost to complete the Växjö Mosque is $3.75 million. 

By the grace of Allah (SWT), we have already raised $2.7 million, leaving us with a remaining goal of $975,000 to fully fund this project. 

Here is a breakdown of the remaining costs:

 • $300,000: Technical installations (sound systems, ventilation, electrical work) 

• $275,000: Interior (tiles, carpets, and other essential finishes) 

• $300,000: Exterior (minaret, outdoor environment, and final touches) 

Our community has been tirelessly working on this project since September 2023, and construction is well underway. We aim to complete the mosque by August 2025, but critical payments need to be made by May 2025. 

To ensure progress, we must raise $690,000 by the end of Ramadan 2024. A House of Allah (SWT) for Generations to Come The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” (Sahih al-Bukhari) This masjid will transform the experience of worship and learning for the Muslims of Växjö. 

It will no longer be a temporary structure but a true house of Allah (SWT), built with care and dedication to serve as a hub for Islamic education, interfaith dialogue, and community support.
