Empowering Muslim Students Through Islamic Education

The Lighthouse Scholarship Foundation works to remove barriers for future generations of Muslim leaders, to ensure that Islamic knowledge, values, and practice continue to flourish!  Your contribution supports a full, lifelong educational journey rooted in Islamic excellence.

Starting with very humble beginnings, in our first three years as a foundation, LSF has been blessed to aid 150 students from both institutions with over $50,000.00. Without your help, students would not have been able to graduate with their Certificate of Islamic Studies from IQOU Theological College.

This campaign invites donors to invest in a complete educational pathway. One that begins in kindergarten at Noor Academy(USA) and can lead a student through IQOU Theological College. Ultimately, through the doors of Al‑Azhar University in Cairo, one of the world's most respected Islamic institutions.

                                     From Kindergarten (USA) To Al-Azhar (Cairo)

1. Noor Academy (Kindergarten → Grade 12)

A safe, nurturing Islamic environment where students build strong foundations in Qur’an, Arabic, academics, character, and leadership.

2. IQOU – Islamic Quranic Online University (Post‑Secondary)

After high school, students can continue their Islamic studies through IQOU’s structured, scholar‑led programs. Deepening their knowledge and preparing for advanced scholarship.

3. Al‑Azhar University, Cairo. 

Through IQOU’s recognized curriculum, students become eligible to apply directly into programs at Al‑Azhar, one of the world’s most respected Islamic institutions.

This pathway creates a rare opportunity: a child can begin their education in a United States Islamic school and grow into a globally recognized Islamic scholar.

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“When a person dies, his deeds are cut off except for three: Continuing charity, knowledge that others benefited from, and a righteous son who supplicates for him.”  — Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1376

The Lighthouse Scholarship Foundation (LSF) is dedicated to ensuring that financial hardship does not prevent students from accessing a high-quality education in a safe, nurturing Islamic environment. LSF was established to support students from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds as they pursue their academic and religious development through affiliated Islamic educational institutions.

We recognize the critical importance of providing Muslim students with access to a competitive, well-rounded education that integrates academic excellence with strong Islamic values, without compromising religious identity or well-being. To achieve this, LSF provides financial assistance in the form of scholarships, grants, and bursaries to eligible students.

Through the generosity of our donors, LSF alleviates financial barriers that impede educational access, empowering students to thrive academically, spiritually, and personally. Our mission is to illuminate the path for future leaders by supporting their journey toward becoming knowledgeable, ethical, and confident contributors to the Ummah and society at large.

Our Success Stories

The Lighthouse Scholarship Foundation serves to remove financial barriers from students of Noor Academy and IQOU Theological College, in their pursuit to ensure the next generation of Muslims are well educated, both Islamically and secularly. Respectively, these institutions confer college-level degrees and kindergarten through 12th-grade diplomas. While Noor Academy teaches both secular and Islamic classes, both schools are entirely Muslim-run and provide a comprehensive Islamic education, including courses such as the Science of Holy Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, Islamic History, Arabic, Hifz, and other Islamic sciences.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 

“Whoever takes a path upon which to obtain knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easy for him.”

Abu Qatadah reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ  said,

“Whoever is pleased for Allah to save him from distress on the Day of Resurrection, let him relieve one in hardship or lift his burden.”  — Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1563
