YOU CAN HELP SAVE CHILDREN'S LIVES, PROTECT HEALTH AND SUPPORT EDUCATION BY GIVING CLEAN WATER IN GAZA

The siege and war on Gaza has made its water very polluted and dangerous to health. 

Dirty water is making Gaza’s people, and especially its children, very sick. It is responsible for 25% of their illnesses.

Some of the diseases the people suffer from due to dirty water are diarrhoea, salmonella and typhoid fever. Another is “blue baby syndrome”, called this because it causes the baby’s skin to become a blue colour. Dirty water is a major cause of child death in Gaza.

You can help protect children's lives in Gaza by supporting this campaign to build a water desalination in a school. This facility will provide an incredible 50,000 litres of pure, clean and fresh water every day, Alhamdulillah. This will be enough the serve the needs of 4,500 children.

1) The population of Gaza is 1.6 million, with over 50% under 18.

2) 38% of Gazans live in poverty.

3) 26% of the Gazan workforce, including 38% of youths, is unemployed.

4) The average wage declined by over 20% in the past six years.

5) The Gaza crisis has caused 54% of Gazans to be food insecure with 75% depending on foreign aid.

6) Over 90% of the water from the Gaza aquifer is undrinkable.

7) About one-third of the items in the essential drug list are out of stock.
