Give Zakat and help a family observe Ramadan with dignity, warmth, and hope.

100% of your Zakat will be delivered as cash assistance to displaced families for food and water. Give your Zakat today.

Your support is urgently needed to help those who are caught up in the deadly violence.

Women and children piled in trucks fleeing war, hunger, and thirst.

And after months of walking, they reach the camps.

But when we talk about everyday life, the basics are missing.

There's no water, food, health, education, or sanitation services, exposing vulnerable groups to heightened risks.

Mothers quietly skip meals so their children can eat. Older people live alone in cold rooms, with no one to turn to. Families are doing everything they can to survive, yet still falling behind because the support simply isn’t enough.

For displaced families, the holy month of Ramadan—once a time of togetherness, reflection, and joy—is now filled with uncertainty and hardship.

But through UNHCR’s Refugee Zakat Fund, you can make a real difference.  100% of your Zakat reaches eligible families—with no deductions—providing one of the most direct, dignified forms of support.

For many, it is the difference between breaking their fast with a meal or going without.

Your Help Matters:

Three years into the start of the conflict, the humanitarian needs are as urgent today as when the crisis began. Fighting continues, killing civilians, destroying essential infrastructure and violently forcing thousands to flee every day to save their lives.

Sudan is now the world’s largest displacement crisis: 1 in 3 Sudanese live in exile.  14 million people have been forced to flee since April 2023.  Nearly 12 million remain displaced. The conflict has involved extreme levels of violence and human rights violations against civilians, including sexual violence, torture, arbitrary killings, extortion of civilians, and targeting of specific ethnic groups.

Sudan is also facing the worst levels of food insecurity in its history. Refugees in Sudan face highest levels of food insecurity, with about 62 percent having poor or borderline food consumption and heavily relying on increasingly reduced food rations from humanitarians.

How You Can Help:

Your Zakat can be a lifeline to displaced families through UNHCR’s Refugee Zakat Fund—a trusted and Sharia-compliant way to fulfill your Zakat. Make your contribution count.

Your donation—no matter the size—will help UNHCR continue delivering life-saving support to families who urgently need safety and hope.

Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of refugees, bringing hope to those in need.

Eid Mubarak

Dear Supporter,

As we conclude Ramadan, a month of fasting and reflection, your kindness and donations have made a significant impact on the lives of refugees and displaced people.

While Eid al-Fitr is traditionally a time of joy and community, it's important to remember that many refugees across Africa and around the world are living through tremendously challenging circumstances. Today, we honour their strength and spirit.

On an occasion like Eid al-Fitr, we renew our united commitment and action to help those in need. Thank you for your compassion and support.

Warm regards,

The Last 10 Nights are here!

Dear Donor,

In these blessed nights of Ramadan, we are reminded of the mercy, compassion, and generosity that define this special time. And what better way to do so than by easing the suffering of our brothers and sisters – refugees who have been forced to flee their homes, leaving everything behind in search of safety.

Today, we recall the profound words of the Hadith: "The believers, in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy, are like one body; when one limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever."

Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, some families have already received assistance from Zakat and Sadaqah contributions.

But our efforts for the remaining most vulnerable families, including widows, orphans, and the elderly, who still urgently need our help, must continue. They long to spend these blessed nights with the peace they deserve.

Give Zakat now and seize the blessings of the last nights.

Through the Refugee Zakat Fund, 100% of your Zakat reaches those most in need without any deductions.

In these last blessed nights, the best ones of the year, we have the chance to make a lasting impact. Let us end this Ramadan with some of the deeds Allah (SWT) loves most: charity, mercy, and compassion.

May He accept your fasting, prayers, and all your good deeds.

May He reward your generosity abundantly and place blessings in your wealth and family.

Dedicate Your Zakat to those most in need.

The last 10 nights are here!

Dear Donor,

As we enter into these last blessed days of Ramadan, our thoughts go out to the millions in Sudan whose endurance is being tested by an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. Beyond the staggering figures of displacement are stories of profound humanity, where those who have the least are often the first to offer a helping hand.

Abdallah, an Eritrean refugee who has lived in Sudan’s Girba Refugee Camp for over 44 years, understands the weight of being a stranger in a new land. Today, as violence forces Sudanese families to seek safety, Abdallah is repaying the kindness he once received by welcoming those now facing the same hardship he endured decades ago.

"We welcomed our Sudanese brothers and sisters as they welcomed Eritrean refugees back in 1967; generosity is not measured by how much you have, but by how much you give."

Abdallah and his community have already opened their doors to more than 200 families, sharing their rations of soap, flour, and food. They refuse to take while their neighbors have nothing, proving that the bond of human kindness can withstand even the harshest circumstances.

While Abdallah shares what he can, the need remains critical. Your support can provide vital aid: shelter, food, clean water, and medicine that these families desperately need to survive.

Please give today.
