Life is not about how much you earn but how much you give. Think Humanity, Think ISLAMIC RELIEF!

LIFE IS NOT ABOUT HOW MUCH WE EARN BUT HOW MUCH WE GIVE

I would like to start with this qoute. It could be potrayed in the life of The Prophet (peace upon him) and his companions.  How they live their life each day not wasted by mostly by giving benefit to the community in terms of wealth, strength and wisdom.

There's a story about an abid (people always spend time worshiping). For 60 years he worshiping Allah then come a test to him. He eventually committed zina (adultery) for 7-10 days. He realised that it is wronged and eventually separated himself from the area and seek repentance. He went to the place of worship and making his doa. He worshipped every single time filled with the guilt of his deeds. He did not take his food just focussing on repentance until the day the villagers know the story and try to persuade him to start taking his food. One person gave him a piece of bread. The abid take the bread n break it and give it to other people who needed more. He continued his repentance until not long after he died.

On the judgement day, Allah weigh his deeds on the al-Mizan. Allah put the 60 years of worship and his repentance on one side and his 7-10days of committed Zina on the other side. However, the Zina deeds heavier than his worship. Technically he is going to be in hell.

However, Allah takes one of his last moment deed. The bread which he gave to other people who needed it. The sadaqah he did at the last moment.  Allah put on the Al Mizan. Then suddenly his sadaqah are much more heavier than his wrong deeds. His sadaqah save him from the notorious hellfire. His last moment of sadaqah save him. Then he entered Jannah. By Allah redha and due to his act of sadaqah.

The moral of this story is to never underestimate the power of sadaqah.

The Prophet (peace upon him) said “Sadaqah extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire,” (Hadith, Tirmidhi). He also said that Allah offers relief on the Day of Judgement for those who give sadaqah: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be their charity,” (Hadith, Tirmidhi).

In the Quran, Allah said there's a person in hell ask Allah to bring them back to the world so that they can give sadaqah. And donate from what We have provided for you before death comes to one of you, and you cry, “My Lord! If only You delayed me for a short while, I would give in charity and be one of the righteous. (Surah Munafiqun,10)” Why sadaqah?  Not solat? Fasting? Hajj?  Because sadaqah are not tied with time. You do not need a particular time to sadaqah.

In Jannah, there are several doors one want of it is the sadaqah door. Hope all of us can enter through this door.

In this month of Ramadhan where Allah multiple all His blessings to those who do good deeds.

The Prophet (peace upon him) would give charity throughout the year but increase his sadaqah during Ramadan. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “The Prophet (peace upon him) was the most generous of people, and he was most generous during Ramadan,” (Hadith, Bukhari).

So, in this Ramadhan let us put our hand together by helping others by giving sadaqah to those who need it through Islamic Relief Malaysia (Rezeki Ramadhan Programme). In this year, a lot of people are affected by the pandemic coronavirus, lets us move as one. One Ummah. Give generously in this blessed month and ask Allah to make your sadaqah a protection for you and your loved ones. Life is not about how much you earn but how much you give.
