On Saturday, December 28, 2019 a lorry loaded with explosives was set off into the "Ex-control Afgoye" checkpoint, a well-known junction that links the south of Somalia to the capital killing more than 90 people and leaving hundreds more injured. It's the largest terror attack in the history of my homeland Somalia.
Please join us in supporting the hundreds of victims of this tragedy by donating generously!
The attack happened during rush hour in the Somali capital at about 8 a.m. local time, and civilians and soldiers are among the dead, police said.
My name is Hussein Abdullahi, and I returned to help rebuild Somalia. I am saddened by the violence the people of Somalia have to face daily. The attack on December 28th, 2019 in Mogadishu is impacting the poor women and children of Somalia. Many who lost their lives were students who were trying to go to Banadir University located at that location.
Through close collaborations with many different sector experts, bilingual community leaders and talented spokespersons, IDHO advocates the development of these individuals to help to make their future brighter; to gain access equal rights and opportunities; to excel educationally; to acquire and maintain physical and mental health; to become more ‘politically aware’ citizens and to become socially and economically advanced within their communities.
