Medical Crisis in Sudan - Help SAPA Restore a Hospital

Located in Khartoum North, Bahri Teaching Hospital was one of Sudan’s busiest public hospitals, handling over 30,000 emergency visits and 10,000 surgeries annually. But after months of conflict, it is no longer functional. The infrastructure is destroyed. Wards are closed. Life-saving care has disappeared.

Displaced families are returning to find closed doors and no access to treatment. Mothers are giving birth without help. Emergencies go untreated. Children suffer with no pediatric support. Without intervention, more lives will be lost.

The Need Is Growing But the Hospital Can’t Open Its Doors

As more people return to Khartoum, the pressure is rising. But Bahri Hospital has no power, no running water, no equipment, and no functioning emergency care. SAPA is stepping in to restore it, one ward at a time.

How We Will Rebuild Bahri Hospital

This is a project led by Sudanese doctors, built on compassion. Every step is focused on restoring care where it’s needed most. Here's what we're working on:

• Rebuilding emergency, maternity, surgery, and orthopedic wards
• Restoring plumbing, electricity, lighting, and ventilation
• Drilling a deep-water well to restore a clean water supply
• Procuring beds, incubators, surgical kits, and diagnostics equipment
• Training local hospital staff and infection prevention teams
• Launching awareness to help people access reopened services
