Snow looks beautiful in a photo—because you can’t feel the cold through the camera. 
When you have walls, windows and radiators, winter is peaceful and enjoyable. 
… But for those who have nothing, the same white sky becomes a threat delivered one bitterly cold hour at a time. 

As winter closes in, over 2 million displaced Palestinians in Gaza and 2 million internally displaced Syrians face life-threatening conditions. 

We at Smile Givers International want to help the refugees this winter in Gaza and Syria by providing:

• Winter clothes (boots, gloves, boots, and jackets, etc.)
• Blankets
• Heaters
• Heating materials
• Shelters

Ibn 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "A Muslim is a brother of (another) Muslim, he neither wrongs him nor does hand him over to one who does him wrong. If anyone fulfills his brother's needs, Allah will fulfill his needs; if one relieves a Muslim of his troubles, Allah will relieve his troubles on the Day of Resurrection; and if anyone covers up a Muslim (his sins), Allah will cover him up (his sins) on the Resurrection Day".

… Across Gaza and the Syrian countryside, whole neighborhoods are still sleeping under tin roofs and makeshift tents. 
… Night temperatures are already dipping near zero. 
… Mothers layer every shirt they own on a child, then lie awake listening for the cough that signals fever is on its way. 
… Grandfathers burn scraps of old clothing and plastic garbage, hoping to produce some warmth long enough for the little ones to fall asleep. 
Last year, medical teams recorded cases where infants lost fingers, toes to frostbite—and some even losing their lives.  

This is not next year’s problem. 
Meteorologists predict an earlier, harsher winter for the Levant this year. 
Fuel that cost 90 cents a liter last January is already $1.40 and climbing. 
Every week we wait, another 100 families slip beyond the reach of broken roads and closed borders.

 Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: The Prophet ﷺ said, "One who strives to help the widows and the poor is like the one who fights in the way of Allah." The narrator added: "I shall regard him as the one who stands up (for prayer) without rest and as the one who observes fasts continuously." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. 

عن أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " الساعي على الأرملة والمسكين كالمجاهد في سبيل الله" وأحسبه قال: " وكالقائم الذي لا يفتر، وكالصائم الذي لا يفطر" ((متفق عليه)). 

Sometimes the greatest sadaqah is a child who stops shaking long enough to say “Alhamdulillah.”
